Estudar o ponto de vista do que se ouve.

 

Quando ouvimos um relato a gente o analisa e muito rapidamente descobrimos do que se trata certo? Pois bem, faremos o mesmo em Inglês. Analise a 'short story' abaixo em três tempos diferentes e tente descobrir o que mudou, vamos começar no presente:

 There's a man and his name is John. He goes to the store and buy a shirt and the shirt is blue and John pays 20 Dollars for the shirt.

Tente entender o que se passa nesta estória.

Agora veja o mesmo relato no passado.

One year ago there was a man and his name was John. He went to the store and bought a shirt and the shirt was blue and John paid 20 Dollars for the shirt.

Entendeu o que aconteceu? Aqui a mesma estória acontece no passado. Agora vamos ver no futuro:

One year from now, in the future, there will be a man and his name is going to be John. John is going to go to the store and he is going to buy a shirt and the shirt will be blue and John is going to pay 20 Dollars for the shirt.

Você leu a mesma estória no presente, passado e futuro. É a mesma estória, mas as palavras mudam de acordo com o tempo que estamos usando. Não pense na gramática, apenas tente entender o que é contado.

Agora vamos ver outro ponto de vista, como ficará a mesma estória sendo contada pelo próprio John?

Pense um pouco... Agora veja como ficou:

I'm a man and my name is John. I went to the store and I bought a shirt. The shirt was blue and I paid 20 Dollars for the shirt.

Em que tempo ele contou a estória?

Que outras palavras apareceram?

Viu a diferença?

Agora crie outras 'short stories' e faça o mesmo exercício, você tomará consciência da gramática inglesa como tomou da portuguesa, ou seja, usando-a na conversação.
